Toll rates increased: Expensive road travel from today, increased toll rates on National Highways

Toll Tax from April 1:  NHAI has increased the rates by more than 10 percent. An increase of Rs 5 to Rs 10 for a car has made the toll more expensive than Rs 800 for commercial vehicles.

New Delhi: Road travel has become more expensive from today. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has increased toll rates. Toll rates have risen since midnight. An increase of Rs 5 to Rs 10 for a car has made the toll more expensive than Rs 800 for commercial vehicles. NHAI has hiked rates by more than 10 per cent. Toll plazas had been closed for more than a year due to farmers’ agitation. Following the hike in petrol, diesel and gas rates, the central government’s decision is likely to exacerbate inflation.

The NHAI has increased tolls on the country’s highways. The better rates will be effective from April 1. According to the notification, the increase is from Rs 10 to Rs 65. The percentage increase is 10 to 18 percent. The minimum one-way toll for small vehicles is Rs 10, while commercial vehicles will have to pay a maximum toll of Rs 65 depending on the distance.

NHAI reviews and changes toll rates at the beginning of each financial year. NHA Giri, Project Director, NHAI, confirmed the change in toll rates.

18% increase on KMP

Haryana’s Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway as well as other national and state highways have seen an increase in toll rates by 10 to 18 per cent. This will also increase the fares of car-jeep, bus, truck-canter. The KMP Expressway used to charge Rs 1.46 per km for light vehicles, which will now be levied at the rate of Rs 1.61 per km. Toll tax will also be levied on other routes at better rates.

The toll tax on cars and jeeps on the highway connecting Delhi has been increased by Rs 10. The one-way toll for large vehicles has been increased by Rs 65. With the increase of at least 10 per cent on the 59.77 km long Delhi-Meerut expressway from Sarai Kale Khan to the expressway at Kashi Toll Plaza, you will now have to pay Rs 155 instead of Rs 140. Similarly toll tax would be Rs.100 from Sarai Kale Khan to Rasulpur Sacrod Plaza and Rs.130 for Bhojpur.

The toll for light motor vehicles from Indirapuram to Kashi would be Rs. The amount would be Rs 80 from Bhojpur and Rs 55 toll would be levied till Rasulpur Sikrod.
